40 Years of HRM

2010 is a special year for us here at Hospital Radio Medway as we celebrate an incredible 40 years of broadcasting to patients and staff around the hospitals of the Medway Towns. Since 1970, hundreds of local people have given their time voluntarily to provide a unique bedside service - many of our members have been here for a long time, others come and go - we're just grateful for their help & support. And, although we now only have one main hospital in Medway, we have previously broadcast to patients in St Barts, St Williams, All Saints and Canada House Maternity Home.

Over the years we have broadcast so many different programmes - one remains constant: The Request Show. It is our main programme and of course the main way that we provide such a personal experience to patients.

Chairman Eunice Norman said: “We are still appealing for former members to get in touch. It would be great if they could come back to be a guest on a show or record a programme for us. We hope to invite all former members to another social event to be held at the hospital later in the year.”

If you are a former member of HRM and would like to be involved in the 40th birthday celebrations, contact the studio on 01634 406865 or email studio@hospitalradiomedway.co.uk

This page will continue to be updated through the year with photos, memories and audio clips. Remember to check back regularly!
