Congratulations to our long-serving member, Derek May, who has been awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Year's honours. Derek was one of HRM's founding members back in 1970, presenting programmes and chairing our committee, before moving into our parent organisation, the Medway League of Friends where he is currently Chairman. Derek receives his MBE in recognition of his services to policing (where he was Special Chief Inspector for Kent Police) and the community in Kent.
